2013 Domaine Tempier Bandol La Migoua
Owned by the Tempier family since 1834 and imported by World Wine Estates since 1991 this is our favourite Domaine to drink, import or sell. Located at the heart of the Bandol Appelation, Domaine Tempier's 38 hectares are spread over several parcels facing the sea on steep, sun-drenched slopes.
‘In Bandol, no other winery rivais the influence of Domaine Tempier in defining the identity of the appellation. Wine Spectator – 2014
Producer Note: The La Migoua vineyard is perched on the southem face of the Le Beausset-Vneux hill range on a chalk and clay terroir. Strata of 200 million year old Muschelkalk can be found here. The soil structure varies throughout the vineyard from stony to various colours of clay ranging from red to ochre to almost blue in some places.
‘50% Mourvedre, 26% Cinsault, 20% Grenache and the balance Syrah, aromas of sweet blackberry, currants, spice and garrigue. Again, medium-bodied, beautifully textured and with fine tannin on the finish.
