2013 Benjamin Leroux Meursault
Stelvin. If memory serves this is the first vintage of Leroux’s Meursault village blend we have seen since 2008. Today’s wine was cropped from a range of lieux-dits – Les Millerands, Bois de Blangny, Les Criots and Au Moulin Landin – which combine to a total of 1.6 hectares. As of 2014 these vines will be a part of the Estate. Probably the most mouth filling of Leroux’s villages whites, yet it remains very refined, pure and fresh. There’s white peach, apricot and cedar notes filling out on the wine’s velvety texture. It has a perfect balance of subtle fruit sweetness and lively acidity for tension and there’s a smattering of grape skin phenolic adding salivating grip. Very precise, transparent and delicious.
