We say it every year and we’ll say it again; this is simply one of the greatest rosé wines of Champagne. The blend is 65% Pinot Noir and 35% Chardonnay, with 50% from the 2014 vintage and 50% vins de réserve (split almost equally between the 2013 and 2012 vintages). Then there is 5% of Egly’s Coteaux Champenois Rouge (the finest red wine of the AOC in our opinion—and not only ours!) that gives the wine its colour and, a great deal of character as well. Dosage is a negligible four grams per litre. The fruit is from 100% Grand Cru vines, grown by one of the most meticulous vignerons in the region—this is why it’s so good. Interestingly this is always Egly’s most delicate wine. It is unbelievably fine, perfumed and red-fruited. It’s something truly special.
