Founded in 1584, Gosset rightfully claims to be the oldest wine house in Champagne and is also one of the smallest. What Gosset lacks in volume it amply makes up for in quality and prestige. Gosset only uses juice from the first and best pressing of grapes, and unlike most other producers, initial fermentation is still carried out in small oak barrels. Significantly, and in contrast to virtually all other houses, Gosset Champagnes do not undergo a malolactic fermentation, resulting in a heightened acidity, slower maturing wines and that inimitable Gosset style; powerful and full-bodied, of unrivaled richness and staying power.
This Gosset Brut Exellence is always one of our most popular non-vintage Champagnes; fragrant and fresh on the nose, this is layered and subtly powerful Champagne with great balance and length. Outstanding value Champagne drinking at this special price.
“93 Points. Vivid yellow. Powerful, mineral-accented orchard fruits and Meyer lemon the nose, with a sexy floral nuance adding complexity. Stains the palate with concentrated pear, melon and lemon curd flavors, with a smoky, leesy quality building with aeration. Surprisingly lively for its depth of flavor thanks to bright, nervy acidity and a chalky quality. Closes long and toasty, with excellent clarity and lift.
