Until the 1980s, Aramon was 50% of Languedoc vineyards, now only 0.3%. Grapes that are suited to the heat of the Languedoc, ripening with lower alcohol and higher acid than you would expect. Pale in colour, bright in fruit with a deceptively strong tannic structure
Just 20km outside of Nimes, Theirry Forestier cultivates 12 ha of magnificent terroir in the small village of Souvignargues. The old vines benefit from a microclimate carried by the Vidourle river. They also sit within a small wooded area that makes for incredible biodiversity. Theiry’s mission is only to manifest this beauty as authenticall as possible, so he works totally naturally in the fields and in the cellar. Never using pesticides or herbicides, and never any oneological corrections in the cellar – beautiful wines from a beautiful place.
