Meursault “Les Gruyaches”
Villages White 750 ml
Tasted: Jun 11, 2017
Note: from a .30 ha holding
Producer note: The young Armand Heitz’s general views about the 2015 vintage are available in Issue 66 as well as the Burghound database. Specifically with respect to the whites he noted that they were bottled in September 2016 after have been both lightly fined and filtered. The level of free SO2 was around 35 ppm with 800 to 900 mg of CO2. (T. Tasting note: There are hints of lactic and cider to the lemongrass and citrus zest aromas. The sleek, delicious and vibrant flavors are more interesting than the nose but the finish is noticeably warm. As the description suggests this is not without its issues and it’s difficult to say if it will harmonize or not but I have my doubts.
