Back in 1975, Jean Guiton was renting 2 hectares of vines to make his wines. From this humble beginning, the property of this domaine now exceeds 12 hectares over several appellations in the Côtes de Beaune. The average age of their vines is 60 years, as some were planted in 1929, the rest in 1971. Their winemaking facility was custom built and completed in 1999. As a side project, Guiton once tended vines in Savigny for the Hospices de Beaune. The Premier Cru Hauts Jarrons vineyard sits on clay/chalk soil facing due east. Guillaume Guiton, is now in charge of the domaine founded 35 years ago by his father Jean. Over a few short years this has become one of a favourite sources for refined, expressive, yet affordable red Burgundy.
